The STEM Academy at Bartlett is a nationally recognized STEM magnet middle school in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS), located at 207 Montgomery Cross Road in Savannah. It was named the winner of Best STEM Middle School in the United States in both 2016 and 2019, and remains one of the most sought-after Choice Programs in Chatham County for families with rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
The academy delivers a school-wide accelerated curriculum in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math with meaningful Arts integration — students take courses like Robotics (LEGO, VEX, and underwater), Latin, Computer Science and Video Game Design, Visual Arts (Applied Design and Architecture), MakerSpace, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Journalism. Instruction centers on problem-based learning through the Grand Challenges of Engineering, and most students complete the majority of their 9th-grade coursework while still in 8th grade.
How Admission Works
STEM Academy at Bartlett is an SCCPSS Choice Program, meaning any student living within the district — not just a specific attendance zone — can apply through the district’s Choice Program lottery for grades 6–8.
