Camden County is Georgia’s southeasternmost county, anchored by Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, one of two U.S. ballistic missile submarine bases. Kingsland, the county’s largest city, has grown steadily around the base and I-95, while St. Marys serves as a historic waterfront gateway to Cumberland Island National Seashore. Woodbine, the smaller county seat, sits along the Satilla River. Camden’s mix of military stability, riverfront and marsh living, and proximity to both Jacksonville, Florida and the Golden Isles makes it a distinct corner of the Southeast Georgia coast.
